Windwing Outrage Snow Kites or Kiteboarding Kites Go bigger, higher, and faster. This is Windwing’s flagship kite, the choice for pros and riders who want the fastest, slipperiest, and highest boosting air machine – while still maintaining some good manners in terms of handling and stability. Like it’s cousin the Rage, the Outrage is a great snow kite or kiteboarding kite because of the JumpStart re-launching system. The JumpStart makes re-launching the OutRage a snap on land and even water. (Which can be a problem with other high aspect inflatable kites.) For extreme light air on water or snow we recommend the Outrage larger sizes: 17, 21, and 25. These kites fly in as little as 5-8 m.p.h. and have a large wind range given their massive size. In extremely light wind a high-aspect inflatable will out-perform sheetable foil kites. The Outrage is similar in design to a kite created by Bill Hansen which won the 2003 Red Bull King of the Air Hangtime contest, but for production Bill slightly detuned the OutRage for stability and user-friendliness. The result is a kite that is Outrageously fun to fly. These kites are primarily designed for water use, but because of Windwing's exclusive JumpStart system they work great on snow as well. Target Rider Intermediate to pro snow riders/advanced intermediate to pro water kiters. Standard Equipment "Complete" kites are shipped with pump, Windwing 4-line bar (see photo) flying lines, and backpack style kitebag, and repair kit. "Kite Only" is shipped with a kite and pump. |
| What size for a snow kite? OutRage kites are sized using the same "standard" method as other inflatable kites. That means the size of the kite is the actual area, not the projected or "Wipika" area. A typical rider of average size and skill in average snow conditions should start with a 10 or a 12. Of course, as stated above, the kite you need depends on several variables. The amount of power you need will depend on surface conditions, snow vehicle, rider weight, wind strength, incline, and rider skill. Powder requires more power, and bigger riders require more power. On packed powder, ice, or wheeled vehicles you need very little power. Experienced riders going for maximum airtime go with a bigger kite as well. Please Note COLORS WILL VARY |
